Simple Tees Not So Simple

Hello fashionistas, isn't this such a cool and chilled post? First of all, everyone meet my stylish and handsome friend (who I also call my bro) Michael Husain. He enjoys spending money on clothes and expressing love for fashion through dressing from a suit and tie on his day-to-day basis and then switching it to a button down, jeans and fancy shoes for an evening out in town. I consistently continue to stress on the importance of him creating a blog for himself but he won't listen. Maybe, someday he will. However, we had an outstanding collaboration with Blackduara. Michael recieved two Blackduara shirts and he asked me to do a photoshoot with him while wearing one of the tops. I love dressing up and I love taking photos. Therefore, I couldn't help it but say "yes". Micheal is wearing the Hard Work mens shirt and I am wearing the Barcode slim t-shirt. These shirt goes as low as $9! While deciding on how to color-coordinate together we decided to wear effortless and similar colors. I decided to wear black Joe Jeans while Michael decided to put on his Zara jeans that contained small amount of rips on the knees. While thinking about what similar shoes we both owned, we decided to put on our slim leather and suede chelsea boots. Mine are from Asos and Michael's are from Topman. To give it a little edge as an accessory I decided to add on this vintage scarf around my neck. Scarfs as accessories are so in right now so I wasn't afraid of adding a little more crisp to my outfit.

Off To Work In Style

Happy Monday Lovelies, I had a CRAZY Weekend..but crazy in a good way! Besides fashion I enjoy going to festivals and meeting people while dancing to some amazing edm songs. Even though I lost my phone (which is really upsetting) I couldn't allow that to stop me from having the best time of my life. However, I am grateful that I had off today so I can relax. Anywho, back to the fashion world. I think anyone who looks at these pictures gets the "American Girl" feeling. What I wanted to show off in this post was that a girl can go to work looking professional but chic at the same time. Girls, we know what's professional and what's not. Therefore, by wearing a simple blouse and slacks is not style. Maybe sometimes we can pull this off but not 24/7. I am wearing this gorgeous black and white monochrome skirt from Minan Wong. This midi skirt gives it a flirty feeling but it definitely screams classy. Then, I decided to tuck in this light silk black blouse so the two pieces together can give it a sharp enough look for the office-wear. Instead of putting on heels I decided to wear these very comfy loafers that I have from Zara. However, if you're the type of girl who enjoys wearing work-attire heels while working go ahead because this outfit will allow you to change up your shoes all day. You can wear flats or loafers and then you can put your work-heels on. I love this satchel from Guess. This is a on-the-go satchel, it provides you with more than enough space to place your daily must take with you essentials. No space to complain for. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Monday! :)

April: Project Re-Design

Hi my loves, this is definitely a busy time time right now for me. I'm graduating in a few weeks, my birthday is this week, I'm ending my internship, doing everything I need to register for graduate school and so much more. While trying to get everything done I try to do my best and focus on my blog. I am also working on a BRAND NEW PAGE and I can't wait for it to launch. There will be so much more happiness on the new one. However, everyone please bare with me on this one until the new is discovered.
So I came up with this project called "Project Re-Design" where each month I choose one blogger to collaborate with. For the month of April I asked my friend Katya from Stylesprinter.com. While having brunch with Katya I brought up the idea to her and she thought that it was very interesting. Therefore, I stated:
1st. We will both purchase one decent price item. An item that does not have a lot of design going on. We will go shopping together and purchase something that we both agree on.
2nd. Once we buy this particular item we will both take individual pictures with it.
3rd. We will begin designing this item based on our own interests and style. What you want to do with this item is design it the way you would want to wear it. You can do anything you want to it. Buy fabric and add on to it, glue flowers, papers, paint it, add strings/fringe etc.
4th. Once we are both done designing our specific item, we will meet and do a photoshoot together. We will take pictures individually and some separate.
5th. Once the pictures are done and edited we will post them. We will post on the same day and time. We will include the regular pictures that we took prior to re-designing the item and the ones we took after we designed it.
Then, I also told her the purpose of this collaboration is:
1. To show people that you don’t always have to spend large amount of money on clothes in order to match your style. You can use your creativity and make something out of what you already might have or you’ve bought for a cheap price.
2. Show people who you are based on your own design.
3. To help each other and show individuals that we have more skills rather than just wearing clothing and taking pictures of them. We can use our knowledge and creativity to construct something new.
While shopping for the item Katya and I tried on a bunch of clothes from Zara and Mango. Therefore, our final choice was this plain white skirt. We both decided that this would be a perfect piece for us to work with. We both wanted to be contented with the item that we chose.. Katya decided to add black ruffles on the bottom of her skirt which gave it a girly vibe. Let me tell you, Katya has some really great sowing skills. Her stitching was incredibly impressive. I really liked the way she used her style sense and placed it into this skirt. However, I decided to add a new fabric in order to challenge my skills. I also decided to leave the fabric half way and clue it into the original skirt. I also decided to play around with some cool stickers from Michaels. Since I've never been to Paris I decided to choose a Paris theme. It was truly a pleasure to collaborate with Katya for this project  I  the other She's such ao great person to work with! xo

#BCBG Gown for Only $150

Good evening lovely people, are you drooling the same way that I am over this light blue #BCBG dress? While walking around and looking for a perfect dress for a special occasion, nothing caught my eye until I stumbled upon this beautiful aesthetic gown. While walking in this dress I felt aplomb.  The way out layer of the dress allowed my high heels with fringe to move around and expose themselves was such an easy outcome. I didn't have to work hard to show them off. You know how sometimes there is no point of wearing cute heels because your long dress with cover them? Well, this was definitely not a problem for me.
There is nothing better in life than to feel good and glamorous about yourself. A lot of us work so hard during our day-to-day jobs and when is time to go out and enjoy a night of freedom, it means that we should really go all out and dress as if we're going to be on the red carpet that day/night. Put on your best dress and shoes! Pretend like you are going to have cameras on you the whole time, literally. Adding this white blazer from French Connection over my shoulders was the exact wealthy touch that needed to be added to this outfit. A bold white tone was a perfect encompass to the dress, there is just so much to love!
Next time you go shopping to buy yourself something buy it with confidence and tell yourself that you're going to look your best. Also, don't always feel like you have to spend a bunch of $$$ in order to look  marvelous. You can find some of the best pieces on sale and stores such as Macy's or Burlington. Hint Hint ;)

DOs & DONTs for a FESTIVAL

Hello everyone, since I'm not attending Coachella I decided to still dress in a festival attire and share some of my own tips on the DOs and DONTs when you go to a festival. For those of you who #love festivals, you probably already have a feeling of what the list might look like but for those of you who have never been to one, take a peek at it! Over the past 1-2 years I've attended New York City EDC, New York City Ezoo, Mob Decent Brooklyn and Life In Color festivals. I know that some of you might distinguish these festivals as "raves" but to me they're all just festivals. You get to dress in a way that makes you, YOU, you get to sip on some sweet drinks and you get to dance                                                                      while seeing artists that you love!

                                                                                  DOs
  • Wear comfortable clothes, even though rompers are complicated to use the bathroom in, they're the easiest to dance in!
  • Bring sunglasses and/or hat!
  • Sunscreen is a must as well, you don't want to get burned.
  • Make sure you have cash, the thirst is real!!!
  • Bring at least one portable charger! You're going to take lots of pictures and videos! You will not want to take time away from having fun to delete stuff on your phone so you can have space.
  • THIS IS SO IMPORTANT: WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES PLEASE. Sneakers, flats or boots. Don't wear sandals, don't do it to yourself =x
  • As for girls, bring your "monthly" essentials. You never know if your time of the month will appear.
  • Wear all kinds of fun accessories, people love seeing you dressed fashionable!
DONTs
  • Don't wear heels, that's a little crazy. You will not feel comfortable at all and you will have your life for that day, literally!
  • Don't accept anything from strangers, especially a drink or even "juice". You do not know what they have in that drink.
  • Don't bring a LARGE BAG, you will not want to hold it and it's hard to dance while holding a large purse.
  • Don't get drunk, seriously! I mean drink as much as you can. Have a limit. You don't want to end up acting like a fool and/or annoy your friends.
  • Don't go there with an attitude, everyone who enjoys attending these festivals are lovable people :) PEACE UNITY AND LOVE <3

Walking In My Stylish Mama Pants

Hello Monday again, On lazy days that are gloomy and cloudy I don't like to dress all the way. No, I don't mean go outside in public and be nude! I mean I don't like to dress up as much as I would on a regular day. Why? Because for me, when it says rain that means I have to wear rain boots. Therefore, when I wear rain boots that means my outfit is not going to be as amazing as it usually is.
I have this imagination/thought that once I wear my rain boots my outfit turns ugly. But then, I have to wear them because I seriously dislike when my feet get wet in the rain.

Anywho, the decision was made to not wear rain boots but these edgy and fit heel booties. Then, I decided to wear my long lost Balmain white graphic shirt that I bought back in November. Nope, I haven't worn it at all since then. So I finally decided to pull it of and combine it with my fringe black leather vest from ASOS. Then, I pulled out my light cotton pants from HM. I want to call these fashionable mom pants. The reason for this is because they're so stylish but chilled at the same time. Instead of having my look go to a complete casual mode I switched it by adding these heel booties from Forever21. Even though I only wear these booties for special occasions, I decided to wear them out for a coffee meeting that day. The grey tone was totally off from the colors of my clothing but that's exactly what I wanted. I don't always match, matching can get boring.
To end this lovely outfit I decided to take out my tote bag from Foxes and instead of using the navy blue side I turned the light brown side. The navy blue wouldn't have went well with the black. The navy blue would have thrown the outfit off. So the brown fell well together with the white, black, green and GREY. Thanks for stopping by lovely people!

Pop of Royal Blue

Hello my fashion lovers, New York City literally took 20 steps back to December! Where did this cold come from? Weather, can you please stop playing with my feelings? I need you to remain warm so I can be happy! haha --BUT I am fighting it back with this very cozy and warm turtleneck sweater from Express. It's such a perfect fit and what's really great about this turtleneck is that you're able to pull it up so it can protect your neck. Instead of having to put on an extra layer such as a scarf you'll be good to go outside without it. Besides wearing this lovely washed mixture of brown and grey sweater I decided to wear white sophisticated pants. These ankle pants from HM are literally life for me! I can wear them for an office look, casual look, day-to-night look etc You name it and I wear it! I didn't think that another color or black would go with this sweater, it would take the excitement out. Now, how AMAZING are my heel flats from Beacon's Closet? They are brand new and very comfortable. While walking in them I forgot that the heel on them even existed! I love how the colors contradict one another. I really wanted to match my clutch with the shoes, especially since the flats have three colors going on. I picked royal blue because that color always screams excitement to me. Therefore, choosing this Aldo clutch was a great idea for this outfit. Even though the clutch contains a long gold chain that I can place on my shoulder I thought it went better as a box clutch for me to hold. Instead of the clutch just being plain blue the gold lines around the clutch give a marvelous touch to it.
Thanks for stopping by! I will continue having a post every Monday and Thursday at 9:00PM xo Eastern Time
